Paraíba tourmaline is one of the rarest gemstones in the world: the original mines in the Brazilian state of Paraíba had extremely limited output and are now largely depleted.

The stone is a 1.52-carat teardrop, vivid greenish-blue ("neon blue") in color, transparent, with a modified brilliant teardrop cut, measuring 10.12 × 5.88 × 3.99 mm.
