Rock Crystal - Hyaline Quartz

Rock crystal (or more precisely, hyaline quartz) is a pure and completely colourless variety of quartz; when combined with other gems, it increases its lustre, giving it a splendid polished finish; its name comes from the Greek word kristallos, meaning 'ice': it was believed that this stone was ice that had hardened so much that it could no longer melt.
